Industry Trust Fund.
A foundation since 1962.
The Industry Trust Fund was established to support and strengthen the union mechanical contracting industry in the Washington, D.C. region.
Following action taken by the Board of Directors on April 10, 1962, provisions were included in the Collective Bargaining Agreements entered into on August 31, 1963, between the Mechanical Contractors District of Columbia Association, Inc., Local Union No. 602, and Local Union No. 5.
These agreements required employers covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreements to contribute to an Industry Fund for all hours worked by journeymen steamfitters, plumbers, and apprentices.
Purpose of the fund.
The Industry Trust Fund was created to provide a dedicated resource for the advancement, promotion, and long-term stability of the mechanical contracting industry.
Through this fund, MCAMW is able to support initiatives that benefit contractors, strengthen labor-management relationships, promote industry education, and help ensure the continued growth of the signatory mechanical contracting community.
