Over the weekend, MCAMW Young Leaders and two students from our University of Maryland’s Mechanical Engineering Student Chapter came together to volunteer with Rebuilding Together Alexandria (RTA) on their National Rebuilding Together Day, Saturday April 28th. Our home was one of forty other homes that were having repairs done in the Alexandria area. On a national level, Rebuilding Together had around 10,000 homes across the country experience similar safety upgrades.
This was the MCAMW’s first year working with RTA as well as sponsoring one of their homes that qualified for repairs needed to ensure homeowner safety. Our group of twelve were able to successfully install a new set of handrailing’s to the front steps, re-install and properly mount gutters to the back of the home, repaint and provide minor upgrades to one of the inside bathroom’s, and excessively manicure the front and back property of the home.
We could not have asked for better weather or a better group of Volunteers to take on this project. Thank you all for all your hard work and taking time out of your busy schedules to leave a lasting impact on this home. Our group looks forward to volunteering next year with Rebuilding Together!
